SUBSCRIBE TO EXCELLENT WORLD WAR II VIDEOS The final blow came on the 28th when Hitler received word via Goebbels’ Propaganda Ministry that British news services were reporting SS Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler had sought negotiations with the Allies and had even offered to surrender German armies in the west to Eisenhower. According to eyewitnesses in the bunker, Hitler “raged like a madman” with a ferocity never seen before. Himmler had been with Hitler since the beginning and had earned the nickname “der treue Heinrich” (faithful Heinrich) through years of fanatical, murderous service to his Führer, who now ordered Himmler’s arrest. As an act of immediate revenge, Hitler ordered Himmler’s personal representative in the bunker, SS Lt. Gen. Hermann Fegelein, who was also the husband of Eva Braun’s sister, to be taken up to the Chancellery garden above the bunker and shot. Now, with the desertions of Göring and Himmler and the Soviets advancing deep into Berlin, Hitler began preparing for his own death. Late in the evening of the 28th he dictated his last will and a two-part political testament (shown below) in which he expressed many of the same sentiments he had stated in Mein Kampf back in 1923-24. He essentially blamed the Jews for everything, including the Second World War. He also made a reference to his 1939 threat against the Jews along with a veiled reference to the subsequent gas chambers… “I further left no one in doubt that this time not only would millions …

If anyone doubts that the Harlem Globetrotters were incomparable athletes as well as world-class entertainers, this documentary will put them wise. The documentary features interviews with everyone from former Globetrotters and NBA coaches to Henry Kissinger. “The Team That Changed The World” lays out not only the development of the team itself – how original Globetrotters Marques Haynes and Reece “Goose” Tatum turned a sport into a form of vaudeville without sacrificing amazing displays of skill – but also the volatile racial politics of the 1930s, ’40s, and ’50s, when the Globetrotters were at their peak. In only an hour, the documentary argues persuasively that this basketball team, as they toured the world, became a symbol of racial progress and American good will. It’s not the same as seeing the Globetrotters live, but fans of these great performers will find this documentary a pleasure. (This is Part 3 of 7)

Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi epitomises 10000 years of Indian culture in all its breathtaking grandeur, beauty, wisdom and bliss. It brilliantly showcases the essence of India’s ancient architecture, traditions and timeless spiritual messages. The Akshardham experience is an enlightening journey through India’s glorious art, values and contributions for the progress, happiness and harmony of mankind. The grand, ancient-styled Swaminarayan Akshardham temple complex was built in only five years through the blessings of HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) and the colossal devotional efforts of 11000 artisans and BAPS volunteers. The temple complex was inaugurated on 6 November, 2005. Akshardham means the eternal, divine abode of the Supreme God, the abode of eternal values and virtues of Akshar as defined in the Vedas and Upanishads where divine devotion (bhakti), purity and peace forever pervades. For the first time ever the world witness the heritage of India in all its facets, insights and beauty at the Swaminarayan Akshardham through its temple, exhibitions, gardens and other attractions. swaminarayan.org http

Quedlinburg, former royal palatinate and member of the Hanse League, is a charming mediaeval city, over 1000 years old. It lies to the North of the Harz mountains. Its fascination derives from its narrow winding lanes covered with ancient cobble-stone and its spacious squares ringed by half-timbered buildings, and dominated by the massive sand-stone mound which bears the castle and the Romanesque Collegiate Church of St. Servatius. This is where Germany’s history began more than 1000 years ago. At the foot of the castle-hill, Saxon Duke Henry is to have been offered the RoyalCrown in 919. He and his successors made the Quedlinburg palatinate an important centre of imperial politics. Henry I was buried here in 936. On the hill, his widow Queen Mathilde founded a Ladies’ Convent which continued to exist for nearly 900 years. A priceless church treasure still reflects the splendour of the Ottonian dynasty. The halls and chambers of the former Convent now hold the Castle-Museum, featuring exhibitions on the history of town and convent, and still awing the visitors with their dignified ambiance. The greatest attraction in fact is Quedlinburg in its entirety. Some thirteen hundred half-timber buildings arrange themselves at the foot of Castle-Hill in quasi organic patterns on an area of about 80 hectares. Richly decorated facades exhibit the historic development of the half-timber architecture – like in a picture-book. The completeness of this historic townscape is unique among …
