Bridging Heaven & Earth Show # 209 with Mary Saint-Marie

Mary, joyous and loving collaborator in the International Bridging Heaven & Earth Art Project, is a mystic artist/writer, spiritual educator and visionary. Nature was the first potent childhood teacher of Mary. Here she learned she could experience a deep connectedness with nature. Her formal university education included a degree in Education-English, after which she spent eight years teaching high school and college English, Mythology and Communication. She was also a coordinator in public educational TV. Simultaneously Mary studied fine art at the University of Wisconsin. Soon after this Mary had a spontaneous soul merging which was followed by a head-on car collision that provided the opening to see her life via her soul…as pure joy. After this, Mary could see emanations of light around living things. The exalted experience of the collision initiated a new life. Mary was inspired to begin her life as an artist and to make a solo journey ‘overland’, with a kelty pack filled with one change of clothing and art supplies on her back, to Spain, Morocco, Italy, Greece, Crete, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Kashmir, where she felt the art, culture, heart and soul of those peoples and began to find the Silence within. It has taken a picture of the vehicle in the hall one after another. Comme Des Garcons SS 2008 Runway Fashion Show (Part 2 of 2)

Fashion Designer Rei Kawakubo, founder of Comme des Garcons, was born in Tokyo in 1942. Being untrained as a fashion designer, but having studied fine arts and literature, she conveys her ideas verbally to her patternmakers. After graduation Kawakubo worked in a textile company and began working as a freelance stylist in 1967. In 1973, she established her own company, Comme des Garcons Co., Ltd in Tokyo. Starting out with women’s clothes, Kawakubo added a men’s line in 1978. Two years later, she moved to Paris and presents her fashion lines there each season. At the same time she opened up her first boutique in Paris. Following her breakthrough in Paris, Comme des Garcons clothing was often subject of exhibitions around the world. Comme des Garcons specializes in anti-fashion, austere, sometimes deconstructed garments, sometimes lacking a sleeve or other component. Her garments are primarily in black, dark gray, and white, often worn with combat boots.
