The Story of The Supremes from The Mary Wilson Collection at the V&A, London
Feb 19th, 2010 by admin
In 2008 the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington, London, hosted one of its most unusual exhibitions. Visited by over 60000 people the exhibition brought a little bit of Motown to the British capital. It explored the life and times of arguably the most successful girl pop group ever, ‘The Supremes’, through the dresses and costumes that belonged to one of its founding members – Mary Wilson. The exhibition was ‘The Story of The Supremes from The Mary Wilson Collection’.
I hope Mary will bring the The Supremes ’s colletion to Baltimore ot washinton D. C. in the comuing year 2010
diana already tried it. how many reunions can you have. its like Michael was tired of having Reunions and refused up to his death. Get over it. as for her not being the queen any more. . thats a matter of opinion. as diana can make $240,000lbs. singing for 40mins. and sells out venues in europe. no one is shelling out big bucks to see mary. . and definitely not hear her sing this song. . heres to life. . omg. no wonder she never had a solo hit.
I totally agree. They should have a reunion and bring a happy closure to their history. Diana needs to get over herself. She ain’t “the Queen” anymore. Obviously she forgot where she came from. Someday she’ll come down her cloud. (before it’s too late I hope!).
This exhibition has been to the states. It was on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. I went to see it twice.
geez, after hearing this, how could they have picked that Ross girl to be the lead singer?
Here’s To Life
What song is she singing?
Wow! I wish this show would come to San Francisco! Diana Ross is a world treasure!
They need to have a reunion! Diana needs to get over herself! Mary said she’s ready for it and Cindy’s said the same!
The most successful American music group need to reunite!
just great, she sang her heart out here
Mary sings that song so beautifully. I hope this exhibition does come to the states.
Ok cool.
heartandsoul22, she did bring it to a few select cities in the U. S. a few years ago. I imagine she will have it tour more U. S. cities once it returns from Europe.
I would love to see the collection. Mary Wilson you truly the best.
