To answer Lineageholder’s question, what makes Robert Thurman an authority on Buddhism other than his academic qualifications? Robert Thurman was the first Westerner to become a Buddhist Monk. This is how he became good friends with the Dalai Lama decades ago. Buddhism does not use Biblical language, why would it? It is 5,000 years older than Christiananity.
What makes Bob Thurman an authority on Buddhism other than his academic qualifications? If you check his explanations of Buddhist ideas in his book “Why the Dalai Lama Matters” you will see that they are quite confusing and even misleading with their use of pseudo-scientific and Biblical language.
