This is a really great tutorial series! Thanks so much for sharing your tips with us, I really appreciate it!
@johnnyLikeVideo The moss is dried, never seen it rot or moldy. Even on my experiment pieces that are left in horrendous conditions.
I have crafter hole punches, shaped like a leaf. I have a maple leaf and a poplar type. They are big though at 3/8″
There are a few wild plants here that I can collect really tiny leaves off of. Dry them out, stir them up with some watered down green paint, and dry them out again. But, stale spices like oregano are easier.
Yes, cheap scouring pads work good too.
Do you ever use the scouring pad leaves or something else like it? I saw your conifer trees and what you did there but was curious about non-coniferous trees using something besides woodland scenics.
Also curious on the moss. Does that ever rot because? Is it a real plant?
thank you for the video.
Hey from an Albertan modeler, i enjoy your shows, very nice examples on how to model, especcially the ones like this one.
Ten bucks, cheap compared to here! Which is why I make my own (’sides they look better. )
If interested, I have some written tutorials on making trees on my one website Game-Terrain (info not com) There is a link from my channel here on youtube.
Dude, yeah about the trees at hobby stores.
Ten bucks for four 5inch trees. TEN BUCKS.
The stuff sold here is a foam rubber, dyed green and fine chopped, glued on to a green dyed batting (cotton? rock wool? don’t know)
Try dyeing fish pillow stuffing, aquarium filter, or a cotton ball type stuff green. Then spray glue and sprinkle old herbs on it for leaves (oregano, basil, or maybe something natural from outside dried)
Other than that, like me, you’ll have to pay shipping and order it from somewhere.
hey Kamloopian, I live in Peru and here they don`t sell cluster foliage on the stores, do you have any idea on how to make some kind of home-made cluster foliage? I want to make some trees
Did he keep saying -Ssshhh ?
Less talk more showing champ
u shaved
yeah if your dumb enough to plug it in while your using it
dow here in melboune its about $3 bucks a bag cuz there cheap
isin’t the wire kind of dangerous to be using
or your mom classic
2 alternatives for foliage u could use are scouring pads – ripped up, and a type of moss called “Dead Mans’ Beard” – usually grows on certain types of trees.
Any thoughts on this, Kamloopian?
english say aye,eh and err alot
same!
wow. . . simplemente extraordinario.
Great tutorilas. HA Ha Pringles tube in the background.
A good score.
Yes, the stuff is pretty expensive up here too ($5 a bag or there abouts. )
As you gently pull it apart and fluff it up a bit before you glue it on it does end up making a few trees. At first though, the flat little sheet of it does not look like much.
I’m making new videos of the tree making process. It will take me a week or two before I get them up. But hopefully they will explain things more.
that foilage is preaty expensive down here in new york but i got about 5 bags of that mixed from when people returned them for 6 bucks!
lol im from canada eh
DAMN RIGHT! A true Canadian, Down here ONLY I say “Eh, ya know, and Aye” Its so great to see it
ya it will
You should start countin’ the number of times I say eh and aye.
It’ll be a big number, eh.
