Daigo Umehara SF4 Exhibition (Part 4)
Apr 11th, 2010 by admin
SF Legend Daigo “The Beast” Umehara is put to the test again at Nagoya Street Battle 13, but this time the Japanese throw him the toughest challenge yet! This is truly a GAUNTLET and one of the best exhibitions I’ve ever seen. Daigo faces 9 of some the best Japanese SF4 grandmasters in succession and the hype and tension is truly on a next level! The Fights in order are: Umehara vs Pie (Grandmaster Sagat, 15 BP rank) Umehara vs Tokido (Highest ranked Akuma, 5 BP rank) Umehara vs RF (Grandmaster Sagat, 4 BP rank) Umehara vs Kindevu (World’s best Rufus, 14 BP rank) Umehara vs Mago (World’s best Sagat, 1 BP rank) Umehara vs Pamyu (Grandmaster Bison, 36 BP rank (NSB13 winner, OCV’d a team of RF, Kindevu and Momochi! Don’t sleep on him)) Umehara vs Hisyou (Strong Sagat) Umehara vs Momochi (One of the best Akumas, BP rank 20) Umehara vs Bonchan (Grandmaster Sagat, (lost his BP card)) Enjoy!
Get behind – spam the broken SFIV throws: The Daigo Umehado philosophy.
@psychoticpiro For some reason Ojisan and RF always loses to Daigo, Uryo and/or Momochi/Tokido
And well, the other Sagats at 100k BP are just that what he said they are. . . riding Sagat’s S tier to Grandmaster level. Honestly only Mago, Ojisan and RF are any real threat to the other non-Sagat top players.
@anthonygamer I went back to playing hd remix. SF4 is boring, its all sagat, ryu and akuma online with some ken and zangief scrubs throw in. I’m waiting for ssf4 hoping it’ll be better.
I played rose in sf4 aswell, and will use her in ssf4. I play cammy in hd remix. Notice how I have the balls to play low tiers and do well with them.
but there is only so much I can do with rose against an army of fagots who kill her in 5 moves.

@psychoticpiro No i don’t rate bonchan and rf, not in the slightest. Whats so amazing about them? All sagat players are very much the same.
They’re just experienced sagat whores, sagat is broken, stop defending him because sagat scrubs failed to win a major tourny. Also, there has hardly been any major japanese tounries and SBO is random as shit because you can get knocked out in one match.
Momochi, my favorite player, finally stops the steamrolling train. . that is – Daigo!
Good matches!!! Wish there was a Dhalsim or Ryu mirror match in here. Oh well!
@hardgayramen4ever
you must not play any fighters then because tiers exist in all of them.
daigo loses to Yuu like most of the time .
saw him losing 6 games straight to Yuu like 2 months ago at shinjuku taito station .
i believe daigo is actually afraid of akuma
Momochi’s a Fuckin Sniper !!!!
damn, momochi is owning daigo and mago lately
@republicansridiots yeah, those 2 go back and forth, and have extremely tight matches. Daigo got him at Godsgarden and the previous Nagoya exhibition, while Momochi took him when SF4 first came out and now. Pretty hype matches all around. Momochi actually isn’t who has Daigo’s number, it’s the extremely high level Vipers in Japan that he struggles against it seems (Uryo, Dashio)
momochi always has daigos numbers.
@blackchrisp
dude, momochi is like 24
Get going when the going gets tough eh?
momochi is pretty beast on daigo.
thanks for the videos psychoticpiro its very entertaining and informative.
Yeah I’d have to say his match against Mago was to the wire and the most unpredictable
@ hardgayramen4ever Did you get your ass kicked a lot in SF4? Most people who “retire(LMAO)” lose constantly.
@hardgayramen4ever None of those players were at NSB (except for Uryo I believe). If you mean tell me RF and Bonchan aren’t great. . . I don’t know what to tell you. . . Bonchan regularly rapes peeps at Bigbox and that’s saying something. If you didn’t think the Daigo v Mago was intense as hell, or appreciate the ferocity of the Kindevu match (mad mindgames in the third round) or the sheer tactical nature of the Momochi match, then. . . to each his own I guess.
strongest lineup?
don’t you mean most boring lineup?
How about some exciting players who use interesting characters such as uryo, dashio, shiro, tkd, nemo etc.
Most those top sagat players aren’t even great, they’re just riding sagat’s OP nature to the BP bank.
Even mago bores me shitless, give me an exciting, amazing to watch viper like uryo or dashio over a boring as shit overpowered sagat bore anyday
@hardgayramen4ever I think they (NSB organizers) were going for the strongest possible line up against Daigo. And yeah, Japan’s top 50 is littered with extremely good Sagats, so it’s not surprising there are a lot of Sagats. But apart from Mago, can you remember the last time a Sagat won a big Japan tourney? Lots of parity still there.
@blackchrisp Momochi is not 15 years old. . . he’s actually a pretty old school player. Momochi is a great player (also in third strike). But Daigo typically has the upper hand against Akuma. I don’t where you got the myth that Daigo loses more than normal to the ‘newer’ generation. . .
so in all those matches daigo played
sagat (5) akuma (2) rufus (1) and a boxer (1)
So over 50% of the players used sagat.
Reminds me why I retired from sf4 over 9 months ago and just watch matches. Bring on ssf4, hopefully it won’t turn into super sagat fighter 4.
Haha, isn’t Momochi like 15 years old? Daigo just can’t get in the head of the newer generation.
