The look of the future has preoccupied philosophers and designers for centuries. One company in Belgium, Living Tomorrow, is trying to make the future more tangible by bringing together innovative product designers and high-tech companies. I think they have some interior benefits, the exterior needs considerable attention. I doubt these people have many of the solutions but they are doing something. The reality would be a combination of all new technologies.
Most of their “innovations” are gadgets. Like the bloodpressure device in toothbrush. Real innovation lies in low or zero energy consumption, sustainable use of materials ie recycled products, cheap and fast construction and durability with little maintenance.
It will interesting how this will look in 2048. Much of this might look about as amusing as the ‘Jetsons’ do today.
